What we do

Everything we do has the same purpose: to bring people back onto the mountains above Positano, and to leave those mountains better than we found them.

Projects and activities

Walking with La Conocchia

Walks on the mountain paths, three or four hours long, to let the community live, know and respect the mountains, and to spread the culture of the environment in the part of the Monti Lattari park that belongs to Positano. Since 2019.

Let’s Replant the World

Planting young trees at Montepertuso, in the Pineta, with the children of the «Luigi Rossi» nursery school: teaching the youngest to respect and love the nature around them by putting a tree in the ground with their own hands.

Digital Notebooks

A national school programme (PON, 2019-2020): a digital storytelling and video-making workshop on the Path of the Gods with primary school pupils, inside the project «Digital Itineraries on the Amalfi Coast: discovering the UNESCO heritage» run by the network of schools of the Amalfi Coast.

Welcome Spring, Easter Monday at the Forestry Station

A day out at the old Forestry Station, so that the community can know and enjoy its own territory.

Tree Day

Every year, on the national Tree Day, young trees are planted on our mountains with the third-year classes of the primary school of Positano.

Clearing and maintaining the paths

Clearing and maintaining the mountain paths of the municipality of Positano and restoring signs and markings in the abandoned areas, with the participation of the community. Since 2022.

Dry-stone walls, «le macere»

For a very long time the dry-stone wall was the technique that shaped this land: artificial, draining barriers built out of the rock found on the spot, without mortar, following rules handed down through the generations. With the help of qualified masters we want to run workshops and training days, so that the practical and theoretical knowledge that built this terraced landscape is passed on.

Networks

The association works mainly with local institutions, first of all the Municipality of Positano. It is part of the Coordinamento delle Associazioni della Costiera, the network of associations of the Amalfi Coast and the Sorrento peninsula that promotes sustainable tourism, the protection of the environment and the care of the landscape, rural, artistic and cultural heritage of this territory.
